VAUGHAN, October 12, 2012-The 2012 Canadian Soccer Association National Club Championships have finally come to a close. The tournament was held in four provinces across the country, with the final day of competition taking place on Thanksgiving Monday. Ontario teams did not disappoint, as they came home with the most gold medals (4),as well as the most medals overall (7).

Erin Mills Soccer Club also made a statement, coming home with two silvers in the U16 and U18 Boys Divisions. North Mississauga Soccer Club also claimed a gold medal in the U14 Boys Division, making Peel Halton 5 for 5 in winning medals at this year’s competition. North London Soccer Club won gold in the Women’s Division, despite being the 8th seed going into Nationals, and the Richmond Hill Soccer Club won Ontario’s 7th medal with a bronze in the U18 Girls Division.

Ontario’s quest for gold will begin once again in the spring, as teams gear up for the 2013 Ontario Cup. Those playing in the Nationals divisions will fight for both the Ontario Cup trophy, as well as a spot at the 2013 National Club Championships. Although the bar has been set very high, Ontario will strive to best this very impressive class of 2012.
