AEK London Crowned Men’s Ontario Cup Champions
In the Men’s Ontario Cup Final, PCC Mississauga took the pitch against AEK London at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan Sunday night. From the opening whistle, both sides came out with a high level of intensity. Each side enjoyed considerable possession in the early minutes, but were unable to create any significant chances. As the first half progressed, PCC Mississauga created some scoring opportunities, but the AEK London keeper Paul Azevedo made a pair of wonderful saves. At half time, the game was deadlocked at 0-0. The second half began just like the first, with both teams fighting for an edge. AEK picked it up a notch and began to create chances, but was unable to finish their opportunities. After 90 minutes, the game was still tied 0-0 and went to Kicks from the Penalty Mark. After the first 10 players made their kicks, AEK London would go on to win 6-5. The Boston Pizza Player of the Game for PCC Mississauga was #3 Claudio Dias. The Boston Pizza Player of the Game for AEK London was #0 Paul Azevedo.
