Gold for Ontario U-14 Boys
In a tense final game, Ontario U-14 Boys battled to a 0-0 tie with BC and won the Gold Medal by virtue of a superior goal difference (+8 against +7 for BC).
The two teams were evenly matched and there were few good scoring opportunities. However, BC did have a breakaway early in the second half that was bravely saved by Ontario keeper, Garrett Cyprus. Ontario was then forced to play a man short after a player was red-carded in the 46th. minute. With the man advantage, BC pushed forward for the goal – and the win – that they needed but the Ontario defence held firm. Waleed Cassis came on as a substitute late in the game to share the shut-out with Garrett Cyprus. Ontario did not concede a goal in any of their five games.
