VAUGHAN, September 8 2012- The Under 16 Girls Ontario Cup Final kicked off at 3:00 pm at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan between Glen Shields 96 Red and Burlington Bayhawks. After a morning of wet weather conditions and indoor games, the sun made an appearance and the game was played on the outside turf field. Both teams battled hard for the advantage in the first half, the first goal would go to Glen Shields #2 Simone Wark in the 46th minute to make it a 1-0 at the half. In the 73^rd minute of the second half, Burlington Bayhawks #19 Andrea Petrina made it a 1-1 game. In the 93^rd minute a penalty shot was awarded to Burlington, #2 Carla Portillo put Burlington ahead of Glen Shields 2-1. The Boston Pizza Player of the Game for Burlington Bayhawks was # 19 Andrea Petrina. The Boston Pizza Player of the Game for Glen Shields 96 Red was #2 Simone Wark. Congratulations to the Burlington Bayhawks, the Under 16 Girls Ontario Cup Champions!
