Another Successful Weekend Of Ontario Cup In The Books

 

VAUGHAN, June 27, 2012 — The Ontario Cup Round Robin Tournaments continued last weekend with tournaments held in the U14 Boys and U14 Girls divisions. The competition was excellent as over 75 teams from all over the province gave it their all to make it out of the tournament round. The teams winning their group and moving on to the Quarter Finals on August 11 are as follows:

Also in action this past weekend were the Men’s and Under 21 Men’s divisions playing in Second Round games in Single-Game Knockout format. Of the eight Ontario Soccer League provincial level teams registered in the Men’s division, six will be moving on to a much tougher Third Round. The six OSL teams remaining are PCC Mississauga, Scarborough GS United, Toronto Celtic, Caledon FC, Toronto Blackstar FC, and Woodbridge Strikers. As defending Ontario Cup Champions, Toronto Celtic is posed to have another deep run as they look to defend its title. Hamilton Serbians will have something to say about that when the two teams meet on Sunday, July 8.

The Ontario Cup is off for the upcoming Canada Day weekend, but is back in action the following weekend of July 7-8. Round Robin Tournaments scheduled to take place are the U16 Boys Tier 1 and U16 Girls divisions. In Single-Game Knockout, Third Round games will be played in all nine divisions using a Single-Game Knockout format.
