The Ontario Soccer Community is saddened to announce the sudden passing of one of our young players, Christopher McCurbin-Parkin, during a game that took place on the evening of June 4 in Toronto.
Christopher was a member of the Sporting FC U16 team. While playing in a Central Soccer League game against West Toronto Peniche at Brockton Stadium, he collapsed on the field and did not regain consciousness.
Grief counseling is being made available, through the Ontario Soccer Association and the Toronto Soccer Association, to Christopher’s family, his teammates, other players, coaches, referees and team officials.
On behalf of Sporting FC, West Toronto Peniche, the Central Soccer League, the Toronto Soccer Association, the Ontario Soccer Association and the Canadian Soccer Association, we wish to convey our deepest sympathies to all those touched by Christopher’s passing.
While no further information is available at this time, we will provide any further details as appropriate.
