Ontario U16 Boys Open Spain Tour With 2-0 Win Over Sant Andreu


BARCELONA, Spain — On a cool evening in Barcelona, the U16 Boys Ontario Provincial Team faced Sant Andreu, a local Barcelona team.

Sant Andreu had early possession in the game and forced two good saves on break-aways from Mark Rogal in the 8th minute and 12th minute.

Ontario’s first attacks came in the 12th and 13th minute.

Jaden Lewis missed a good opportunity in the 12th and Jordan Strowger in the 13th.

The next attack came from Maurizio Ragone in the 16th minute when he forced the Sant Andreu goalkeeper to make a good save.

Ontario’s first break-through came in the 18th minute when Adam Bouchard took a low strike that hit the post and Jordan Strowger followed up on the rebound to put Ontario up on the scoreboard 1-0.

The rest of the match was an even battle with Ontario notching the second marker in the 79th minute.

The ball was sent wide on the right side to Carlo Difeo who carried down the wing and knocked a quality low cross across the goal-mouth where Michael Marcantognini slotted the ball into the back of the net to seal Ontario’s first win of the 2012 March Break tour.
