Ontario Teams Set For March Break Tour In Spain

VAUGHAN, ON – The Ontario U14, U15 and U16 Boys and Girls Teams depart next week for their annual March Break international friendlies and training tour.
U14 Ontario players are identified at the OSA’s annual Regional ID Tournaments
This year, the U14, U15 and U16 Boys and Girls Teams travel to Barcelona, Spain, for training and friendlies against local Club and Academy teams.
Ontario’s teams comprise athletes who are part of the Ontario Soccer Association’s Player Development Program which is designed to increase the opportunity for players to reach their full potential and ultimately be selected to one of Canada’s National Youth Teams.
The U14 and U15 Provincial Players were invited to compete for positions along with scouted U14 and U15 players for this season’s U15 and U16 Programs.
The player selections for the U14, U15 and U16 Programs were finalized last November with the each squad comprising approximately 25 players.
Players train four times weekly at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, in addition to three satellite training centres in the West (London), the East (Ottawa) and in the North (Sudbury) which accommodate players traveling excessive distances.
The Ontario Soccer Association’s full time Coaches in the satellite centres trained twice weekly with those players unable to travel to the Soccer Centre on weekdays.
The season commenced in October and will conclude at the end of April.
