VAUGHAN, ON — Futsal teams from across the province will be travelling to Durham College in Oshawa this weekend to take part in the 7th annual Ontario Futsal Cup hosted by The Ontario Soccer Association.

This Provincial Championship has attracted twenty teams from across Ontario and is looking to be very competitive this year. Futsal has been named the official Indoor Soccer game by FIFA and is a sport which has received increasing attention from the soccer world. The sport of Futsal continues to gain momentum around the world, and increasing interest in Canada.

Eastern Ontario will have strong representation at this year’s competition with five teams coming from Ottawa while Western Ontario will have three teams participating from London. This year’s Ontario Futsal Cup is being held in the Under 13 and Under 15 divisions.

The teams will play a Round Robin Tournament on Saturday, February 25th with the top teams in the Tournament advancing to the Finals on Sunday, February 26th to determine the Ontario Futsal Cup Champions.

Games on Saturday kick-off at 10:00 a.m., and on Sunday, the Finals begin at 10:00 a.m.

This division consists of 6 teams:

Group A

• Oshawa Turul 2000 Dragons
• Richmond Hill 1999 Boys Green
• London L.A.C. Spartans 99 F.C.

Group B

• S.C. Toronto
• Whitby Iroquois 99A
• Toronto BCFA

Under 13 Girls
This division consists of 4 teams:

• West Ottawa Soccer Gu13
• Unionville Milliken G99 Black
• Unionville Milliken G99R
• West Ottawa Warriors 1999

Under 15 Boys
This division consists of 5 teams:

• Erin Mills 1997 B Eagles
• London FC Blue
• West Ottawa Soccer FC Milan
• London L.A.C. Spartans 97 F.C.
• West Ottawa Soccer Chaos

Under 15 Girls
This division consists of 5 teams:

• Woodbridge Strikers ’98 Girls
• Unionville Milliken Strikers
• Bolton Wanderers G98
• North Mississauga Panthers
• West Ottawa Soccer Warriors
