Ontario U14 Girls Come From Behind To Win 4-3 Over Quebec
LAVAL, PQ, Saturday, April 19, 2008 — The Ontario U14 Girls overcame a 2-0 deficit in a great come-from-behind effort to beat Quebec 4-3.
A questionable offside non-call cost Ontario the first goal and a subsequent error gave La Belle Province an early 2-0 lead.
After these set-backs, Team Ontario started taking care of business and dominated the rest of the game.
Lauren Hughes got the ball rolling before the end of the first half to narrow Quebec’s lead 2-1 at half-time.
In the second half, the Ontario girls took control of the game with markers by Ashley Campbell, Kirsten Johnson and Nicole Waters.
12-year-old Meara Johnson performed solidly in net for the first half and Allison Gondosh secured the win in the second.
Final Score:
Team Ontario 4 v 3 Team Quebec
