VAUGHAN, ON — Parents and players of Canada’s Women’s U17 Team have launched a campaign to raise $400,000 in support of their preparations for the inaugural FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup New Zealand 2008.
This funding will enable additional preparation games and camps designed to build the team’s cohesion and confidence going into this tournament.
The additional preparation is necessary to compete with the top contenders from Germany, Brazil, Korea, Italy, Sweden, the USA and others.
Without the additional games and camps, the Canadian girls will arrive at the World Cup in New Zealand later this Fall less than fully prepared to play to their full medal-winning potential.
